Lesson Reminders-Front Kick
Description of Mae Geri/Front Kick
- The knee should be raised and pointing towards your target or opponent.
- The leg is pushed out into target.
- Toes should be bent back to avoid injury
- Hips should be pushed forward to drive kick in.
- Leg is pulled back either into stance or to deliver another kick.
- If kicking off back leg from a stance the hand guard is always changed to lead the kicking leg and maintain distance from opponent.
- The kick shown here is to Chudan (middle of body)

Actvity:Stand with one knee raised to practice balance then kick out with toes bent back,try it slowly and fast on both legs.Then try it from a fighting stance on either front or back foot.
